Craig Saunders, The Aviator Experience Tauranga
The Aviator Experience, rnzaf 14 squadron aermacchi jet

Where we started and where we're going...

In the late 1980's Craig Saunders joined the New Zealand Air Force as an Avionics Technician.  Joy rides in the Aermacchi jet trainers he worked on soon had him hooked on fast flying.

Craig left the Air Force after the redundancy of the jets made the job much less exciting. He went on to get his  pilots license so he could fly aerobatics which was almost as fun as flying a jet.

Flight Simulators were the only feasible option for flying in a jet again so Craig came up with the crazy idea of making his own.

Years of development and advances in technology finally led to a Flight Simulator set up Craig was happy to showcase to the public. In late 2016 The Aviator Experience arrived in a hangar at Tauranga Airport.

There are more exciting plans underway to dominate the world of Military Flight Simulation. With advances in technology and Craig's aviation obsession the sky is the limit for The Aviator Experience.

what people are saying

"I bought my 16 year old son an Aviator Experience for Christmas. He went with a friend and his Dad last week. Loved it so much he made the effort to call me and thank me because it really blew his expectations out of the water. Thanks Craig & crew, I'm sure the boys will be back. Highly recommend."
